If you’ve ever dreamed of a restaurant dedicated solely to spuds, then we have good news for you.

The world’s first 'Roastaurant' is here, and it is probably the happiest place on earth.

Created by McCain, potato extraordinaires, the pop-up potato restaurant was created in response to new (and groundbreaking) research which revealed that two thirds of the public could not fathom a roast dinner without potatoes.

A roast dinner staple for the majority of the country, potatoes clearly hold a dear place in our hearts and on our dinner plates.

With that in mind, the only constant on the otherwise eclectic menu will be crisp roast potatoes, which you can shovel onto your plate by the dozen from a giant self-service platter for the bargain price of £5 ($7).

In addition to fulfilling all your potato needs, during the day, the Roastaurant will also offer various roast dinner options, over 100,000 to be exact, with options such as pigeon with onion rings and chocolate gravy available for £7.50 ($10).

If this doesn’t sound like it could get any better, it can.

At night, the space will transform into a “gravy microbrewery,” offering up options like chocolate and jerk, which you can smother all over your endless piles of potatoes.

And while these variations may sound a bit odd, be assured they’ll be delicious - all the food will be created and prepared by Jim Thomlinson, former sous chef of the Michelin starred La Trompette.

The Roastaurant will be open from December 8-10 at the Old Truman Brewery, because unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Express yourself through roast dinner options

But proving the Roastaurant is the gift that keeps on giving, all ticket proceeds and surplus food from the pop-up will be donated to FareShare, the UK’s largest charity dedicated to fighting hunger and food waste.
