Clubs: At the club face

The Aquarium is enjoying a bit of a renaissance of late and this Sunday-night gem is well able to handle most of the plaudits. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly (who needs attitude on a Sunday night?) with everybody in the mood for socialising. It is certainly a good venue to chill in, and perfect for those who want to ease their way out of partying and into the beginning of the week. On second thoughts, forget that; you've got all week to catch up on sleep - bring your dancing shoes (or swimming trunks) and leave the double duvet at home.

@ the end: After the blinding success of previous collaborations, Roni Size and The End posse team up for another night of dark tunes. DJs Krust, Die and Suv join Roni on the decks while MC Cynamite takes charge of the mic.

Octopus Records headline in the lounge but don't expect to get a breather in any part of the club. This gig will be live so don't get left outside. The End is a great club but it's also once of the most unpleasant venues to be stuck outside for an hour when queuing. So, buy your tickets well in advance.

Last week's birthday party celebrated 12 months of Sunday clubbing - a concept that many people doubted could work. A year on, this is probably the strongest gig of its kind out there. Everything from Garage anthems to rare groove and old-skool rhythms gets a spin on the Technics here.

The crowd are mature enough to organise sophisticated garbs for a Sunday night out while the rest of us are ironing a shirt for Monday morning. Lots of designer labels but no pretensions.

The original Saturday-night glam seems to have been around for ages now. But punters still turn up in scores for this one so be prepared to queue for a while.

The dress code here is simple and ruthless. You have to impress in the clothes department, otherwise you'll

find yourself at home in time to catch the end of Match of the Day.

The tunes here aren't too challenging but the DJs keep the bpm high with banging anthems and house.
