Dwyane Wade stopped to celebrate a newly engaged couple after accidentally photobombing their beach proposal.

Earlier this week, the former Miami Heat basketball player was walking on the beach in Santa Barbara, California, when he happened to come across Ryan Basch proposing to his girlfriend, Katie Ryan.

The moment Wade realised what was happening was captured on camera by the couple’s photographer, with the basketball star seen with his mouth open in excitement and his hand on his heart.

The photos, which Basch shared on Instagram, also show the couple smiling with Wade after he came over to congratulate them.

“When @dwyanewade happens to be taking a sunset stroll on the beach and walks by mid-proposal,” Basch captioned the series of pictures.

After Basch shared the story on Instagram, Wade reposted the story on his own account, where he wrote: “It was so dope to witness you guys love!”

The NBA player then direct-messaged Basch, writing: “I need y'all marriage to work. It's now on my conscious haha.”

The chance encounter and the resulting photos have left people amused, with many congratulating the couple on the “epic” proposal.

“So awesome!! Congratulations!!” one person commented on Instagram, while another said: “This is… the coolest thing ever.”
