David and Victoria Beckham's most memorable fashion moments
Show all 20It’s hard to believe it’s been over two decades since David and Victoria Beckham said “I do”.
On 4 July 1999, the then Manchester United football star and Spice Girl tied the knot following a two-year courtship at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, in front of celebrity guests including Sir Bobby Charlton and Gary Neville.
It was here that the couple firmly cemented their status as a couple not fearful of making bold sartorial statements.
For their wedding, the bride wore a strapless champagne-coloured Vera Wang wedding dress styled with a Slim Barrett-designed crown. Meanwhile, the groom dressed in white coattails and famously sat alongside his wife on golden thrones while a single white dove was released into the air during the nuptials.
Following the ceremony, the couple changed into matching purple ensembles designed by Antonio Berardi and Manolo Blahnik shoes, before cutting into a towering cake topped with a nude sculpture of the pair.
Fast forward 21 years and the pair have dramatically changed their style. Gone are the days of matching leather ensembles, corset tops, and thigh-high leather boots.
Nowadays, Victoria Beckham is a renowned international fashion designer with an eponymous fashion brand that has shown at both New York and London Fashion Week and worn by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Michelle Williams, and Kate Winslet.
In 2014, the designer was awarded the gong for Brand of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, telling guests at London’s Coliseum: “We've come a long way since the Spice Girl dressing room days.”
David Beckham, meanwhile, is a widely-recognised underwear, beauty, and fashion model, have posed for the likes of Armani, L’Oreal, H&M.
As the couple celebrate their 21st wedding anniversary, we take a look back at the star’s most memorable fashion moments to date in the gallery above.
