Dior launches new Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation
With almost double the amount of pigment as the previous range, Sarah Young says this is the best coverage yet
Bid farewell to incessantly re-applying your make-up throughout the day or on nights out because Dior has launched a new foundation that promises to give you maximum complexion control for a full 24 hours.
Spring might not be upon us just yet but the beauty world is already thinking forward by launching a host of fresh foundations for the new season, and it’s good news for fans of full-coverage.
While high-coverage formulas once meant thick, cakey looking bases that sat heavily on your skin, now it’s all change.
Case in point, the new Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation.
Showcased at the fashion house’s spring 2018 show, make-up artist and Dior's make-up creative director, Peter Philips, used it to smooth out the model’s complexions for a healthy looking, true to life finish.
It certainly delivers on its full-coverage promise, shrouding discolouration and unevenness thanks to the highest level of pigment found in the entire range; almost twice that of the original foundation.
But, unlike most formulas it remains lightweight and gives a bright, flattering finish to the skin.
“Incorporated in a very fluid texture, the high concentration of pigments ensures perfect blemish correction,” Philips said.
“What’s very new for such a high-coverage product is, you don’t feel or see it. The finish is fresh, and matte enough so that you don’t need powder.”
The secret here is its water-based formula which combines the perfect balance of water, silicon and volatile oils to create a product that is not only comfortable to wear but manages to provide coverage for stubborn imperfections without eliminating your skin’s natural luminosity.
