We love Liberty prints

With Liberty print collaborations in full swing at Oasis and Gap, and an underwear range at Topshop, we've come over all bluestocking. The nostalgic, paisley-ish swirls are just the right side of ironic when worn with heavenly chunky knits or eccentrically deconstructed, as at Luella. Wear in misty, damp meadows while writing poetry, before heading off to a rave. Skirt, £45, Gap

We're not sure about Floral leggings

Ditzy florals work well on tea-dresses, blouses and curtains. Even 80s florals are acceptable, now that the decade is back in a big way. But pretty roses stretched to the point of distortion across the upper thigh? It's our belief that you should keep your graphics up top and your flanks blank.

We're buying Lady Dragon Shoes

Rubbery shoes with a kitten heel – on paper, so wrong, but on the foot, the Lady Dragon is divine. We're prepared to waive the mid-height heel veto for eco-shoe giant Melissa's new collaboration with Vivienne Westwood's Anglomania line. These sturdy stunners are not only fun and fab, but they're also comfy and made from recycled rubber. Lady Dragon shoes, £70, at Vivienne Westwood and Selfridges

We can't wait for Designers at Topshop

Ahead of London Fashion Week, Topshop presents mini-collections by some of the capital's coolest young luminaries. Marios Schwab and Richard Nicoll's offerings go in-store on 9 February. Look for Schwab's trademark, softly feminine body-con. Dress, £55, Marios Schwab for Topshop
