Alexander McQueen: Genius of a Generation, the first book on the deceased designer to hit stores after his death, written by fashion journalist Kristin Knox, will be released in June.
On 128 pages and illustrated with more than 120 pictures, Knox traces the private and professional life of the deceased designer, from his childhood in East London to his unfinished Fall/Winter 2010 collection.
Published by A & C Black Publishers, the book - priced at around $20 - is set for its UK release on May 7, with international markets following in June. Pre-oders can already be made via amazon.com.
And another fashion icon has recently been the subject of a new book: French designer Pierre Cardin's career is illustrated in Assouline's new release, Pierre Cardin: 60 Years of Innovation, coinciding with the house's 60th anniversary this year. Written by Cardin's director of communications, Jean Pascal Hesse, the glossy hardcover can be bought for $75 on assouline.com.
