On Sunday night, celebrities gathered to pay tribute to the numerous contributions to the music industry over the last year at the Grammy awards 2019 .
And while all eyes might have been on Cardi B’s 24-year-old Mugler dress and Joy Villa’s pro-Donald Trump statement dress on the red carpet, it didn’t take long for the gaze to drift upwards to the headwear adorning several attendees’ heads.
Aside from the awards , performances , and notable no-shows from Ariana Grande and Childish Gambino , the occasion served as the perfect platform to celebrate bold, oversized and bejewelled hats and headpieces.
Janelle Monae teamed her burgundy and white tulle dress with a plastic hat, which she titled to a 90-degree angle, adn featured a veil of gold safety pins.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez sported a wide-brim hat with a giant crystal band to match her embellished high-neck Ralph & Russo white dress hot off the runway.
