Kate Spade's brother-in-law, David, pays tribute to late fashion designer: 'I still can't believe it'
'She was so sharp and quick on her feet'
David Spade has paid tribute to his late sister-in-law Kate on social media.
The actor, whose brother is Kate’s husband Andy, posted a picture of himself on Instagram with the designer on Wednesday, two days after her death the previous day.
“Fuzzy picture but I love it,” wrote David, who is best known for his roles in Saturday Night Live, Rules of Engagement and 8 Simple Rules.
He explained that the picture was taken with family at Christmas.
“We had so much fun that day. She was so sharp and quick on her feet. She could make me laugh so hard. I still can’t believe it. It’s a rough world out there people, try to hang on.”
He echoed this sentiment on Twitter, sharing a picture of Kate at his book signing and revealing how fond he was of the image and how funny she was.
Andy has also spoken out about the untimely death of his wife at just 55 years old.
“There was no indication and no warning that she would do this,” he said. “It was a complete shock.”
The couple had been living apart for 10 months but weren’t legally separated or divorced, and they spoke or saw each other every day.
“We were best friends trying to work through our problems in the best way we knew how,” Andy said.
