We knew we could expect plenty of vibrancy from day three of London fashion week, but suffice to say our expectations were exceeded by the statement pops of colour and lashings of bright prints we saw at the Anya Hindmarch and Temperley SS17 shows and Sadie Williams’ NewGen pop-up.

The third day in the LFW schedule kicked off with Anya Hindmarch’s eagerly-anticipated showcase. Each look celebrated a slightly different shade that played out over a pastel coat and then was carried through in brighter detailing on hems and sleeves as well as with matching bags and shoes. Lilac was paired with purple, baby pink with coral. And for those who can’t get enough of the designer’s tongue-in-cheek leather transfers, this season it’s all about the emoji patch.

Sadie Williams experimented with patchwork of her own in a collection punctuated by primary colours. We paid a visit to her NewGen pop-up to take a closer look at the designer’s vision for SS17. Skirts were patterned with offcuts and pinafore dresses were made from pieced-together sections of fabric in contrasting colours. Flashes of blue, red and yellow were seen on zip-through sports tops and pleated skirts.

We finished the day over at Temperley, who drew on a Summer of Love sensibility with flowing and floaty full-length dresses flecked with sequins and florals. The designer played with clashing prints by layering embroidered waistcoats over leopard print co-ord skirts and shirts or stripy sleeveless coats over glimmering jumpsuits.
