Are Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and baby North the 'first fashion family'?
Andre Leon Talley has argued the West family deserve the title First Fashion Family.
The former editor-at-large of Vogue US, Andre Leon Talley, has dubbed Kim Kardashian along-with husband Kanye West and daughter North West the first fashion family.
Talley made the argument on Zappos Couture, an online American retail site which he is the artistic director of.
In the feature he used the family's recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week as example of their fashion credentials.
"The three were a force of iconic moments as they pivoted around Paris, the mecca of fashion during the last fashion shows this month: the Nick and Nora Charles of our times, the Liz and Dick Burton, without the brawls" Talley argued.
The 65-year-old goes onto catalogue their various high fashion outings complete with outfit descriptions from Kim Kardashian's black blazer Lanvin look to West's vintage Dries van Noten.
Talley even quotes model Kate Moss who describes Kim as "one of my favourite people."
He makes a point; love them or hate them the presence of Kimye was impossible to ignore during the spring/summer 2015 shows in Paris last month with a spectacle ensuing with every appearance.
Shoots in well respected magazines such as CR Fashion Book by Carine Roitfeld and the cover of American Vogue earlier this year have boosted their fashion credentials. As has their connection with some of the industries most well respected designers including Riccardo Tisci and Olivier Rousteing.
Kardashian's half sister Kendall Jenner is also adding further fuel to their fashion dominance with an increasingly impressive high fashion modelling career and runway appearances at the biggest shows of the season.
