Chanel to hold Metiers d'Art show in Austria and on the same date as the Victoria's Secret show

Chanel announces that Salzburg will be the location of choice for the next show on the same date as the Victoria's Secret show

Chanel announced today that it will hold its next Metiers d'Art show in Salzburg, Austria.

The annual show is staged to celebrate the craftsmanship of the French house with a catwalk display created to show off the expertise of the the various ateliers involved with the brand.

The show is staged in a location that has a link to the history of the house of Chanel.

Previous years has seen the show held in Dallas, Edinburgh and Bombay.

This year 18th century castle Scholl Leopoldskron, a rococo Palace with serve as the venue for the grand event.

Ateliers involved include costumer jeweller Desrues, miliner Michel, feather expert Lemarie, Maison Lesage and Atelier Montex the embroiderers, shoemaker Massaro and cashmere creator Barrie.

The show is set to take place on December 2nd which is the same night the Victoria's Secret show which for the first year is being held in London.

Though very different in theme, both shows attract worldwide media attention and it's not just fashion editors that will be faced with the difficult decision on which to attend, Chanel models such as Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner are rumoured to be taking part in the Victoria's Secret extravaganza.
