From Dior to Chanel, haute couture designers seemed to be keen on the 'Cruella look' - and Kate Moss also went for silver during the fashion week.

What has been described by some commenters as "hair dye disaster" could well have been intentional: when British supermodel turned up for her Longchamp party at the Ritz in Paris January 27, there were some silver streaks peeping through her blond hair (which she has since removed, by the way).

But while there are already hundreds of articles on the usually youth-obsessed Kate sporting grey hair on Google News, nobody seems to credit her look to a trend that has sprung up during haute couture week in Paris: Chanel worked the silver into its seemingly Lady Gaga-inspired giant bow coiffures, while Dior went for an even crasser statement, turning its models into modern Cruellas de Ville, using lots of teasing, hairspray, and grey or almost white streaks.

If this trend continues, L'Oréal's anti grey hair formula might not be as pressing as the beauty brand had thought.
