High-fashion designers are embracing online shopping sites this week: After Martin Margiela's one-off pieces became available on yoox.com December 1 and Paul & Joe's collection for The Outnet hit the web on the same day, Roland Mouret's 'Rainbow Project' has gone on sale on Net-à-Porter December 2.

As the name suggests, the dress range comes in all colors of the rainbow, departing from Mouret's trademark understated style. The designer's biggest success to date was the now legendary 'Galaxy' dress, which many think is the outfit that scored the most-ever red carpet appearances due to its simple elegance and universal appeal.

While the bright colors are unusual for the designer's work, he has kept much of the practicality of his creations: the party dresses and skirt suits can be paired with dark tights in winter or bare legs in summer and should work for any occasion from day to night, which means they look good with both heels and flats, even though Mouret suggests nude high heels for maximum impact.

Prices for the dresses range from €1,080 to €2,068, and it's almost certain these won't land on Net-à-Porter's outlet version The Outnet anytime soon.
