HELMUT Lang, the much-talked-about Austrian designer sold in London by Joseph, put in an appearance in Paris to show his new menswear collection. He cuts away all superfluous details in his jackets, allowing proportion, fabric and colour to do the work.
Immaculately cut silk-nylon zip-up jackets have knitted collars, and look best worn with Lang's V-neck shirts. Cotton double-breasted coats and suede shirt-jackets are matched beautifully with jeans and T-shirts. 'I like my jackets to look good with jeans: 50 per cent of me belongs to Levi's,' Lang said.
