Peter Copping confirmed as new creative director at Oscar de la Renta
The US label announced Copping will take the helm at the luxury house

Oscar de la Renta has today confirmed that Peter Copping has been appointed creative director of the brand.
The announcement has confirmed speculation following Copping's departure from Nina Ricci.
Legendary Dominican American designer de la Renta will remain in place to oversee the brand's collections.
Speaking to WWD on the appointment, he said:
"My hope is that, in leading this selection, and actively participating in the transition, I can ensure the right design future for our company and brand… I'm very happy that Peter has agreed to join us. He is a great talent and along with our shared design sensibilities, we both have a deep curiosity about the wider world, from music and art to architecture and gardens."
De la Renta founded his eponymous label in 1965, almost half a century later and he has built a reputation for cladding the backs of well-to-do New Yorkers and red carpet stars in show-stopping gowns.
De la Renta was also the designer of choice for Amal Alamauddin who wed George Clooney last month in Venice in a stunning gown.
Copping's first collection for the label will be autumn/winter 2015 presented in February in New York.
