Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone and Lupita Nyong'o led the pack at last night's SAG awards in the best dressed stakes.

The SAG Awards or Screen Actors Guild to give it it's proper name, is yet another red carpet opportunity mid-way through awards season, on the route to the Oscars.

Somewhat overlooked amongst the other major events, however in red carpet terms the SAG awards provide a prime opportunity for A-list attendees and their stylists to pull all the stops out with show-stopping gowns - an Oscars dress rehearsal if you will.

Emma Stone reaffirmed her place at the top of best dresses lists with a black tuxedo dress layered over sheer black tulle by Dior haute couture, giving a very modern take on red carpet dressing.

Jennifer Aniston left her black dresses at home in favour of a spectacular vintage John Galliano plunging neckline gown, very far from her usual 'safe' red carpet looks.

Lupita Nyong'o is not ready to relinquish her best dressed crown from last year's awards season. She opted for a patterned v-neck gown by Elie Saab bringing some much needed colour to the event.

Julianne Moore looked the part of an award winning actress - she once again took home the top accolade, in a green beaded dress by Givenchy haute couture.
