Mad Men returns to screens tonight for a seventh and final season, sparking a huge surge in purchases of 70s inspired clothing.

The American period drama was initially set in the 60s, but fortunately for shoppers looking to get the Mad Men look, this newest series has moved on to the feel good 70s - ideal timing as the decade has dominated the fashion trends this season.

And from the look of the promotional images the shows costume designers have thrown the cast head first into the psychedelic decade complete with floaty chiffon, dizzying prints and bell bottom hemlines.

Ebay.co.uk has reported a frenzy of sales on 70s inspired items with a-line skirts, fedora hats and bell sleeved blouses all attracting a big surge in sales.

And men aren't immune from the Don Draper effect with an 166% increase on the sale of mustard suits.

For fans of the show feeling inspired to get the Mad Men look, good news - there's no shortage of 70s inspired pieces on the high street.

From Studio 54 glamour to boho style - here's our pick of the best:

On the spring/summer 2015 catwalks the spirit of the seventies reigned with the likes of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chloe, Tom Ford, Pucci and Saint Laurent all taking inspiration from the decade.
