This week's top fashion web sales: clever spring shopping

Refer to the Outnet for spring looks without the spring price tag. Plus: Valentine's Day boutiques, fashion books, and much more.
The Outnet
Spring season is upon us but after all the January sales shopping, the new season's prices seem a bit steep. Enter the Outnet: the discount designer portal has compiled pieces from its archive according to some of the biggest trends for spring from harem pants to sleeveless jackets and mid-heeled shoes.
Net-à-Porter
The Outnet's sister site is giving away an online shopping spree worth $25,000 in celebration of its one millionth order.
Gilt
The sample sale site doesn't only host designer boutiques (Jil Sander, Badgley Mischka, Judith Leiber) this week but also one for fashion-inspired books from publisher Assouline - highlights are Hidden Underneath: A History of Lingerie or Dolce Vita Style, a chronicle of Rome's flamboyant 1950s. Valentine's Day-themed sales include lingerie by Kiki de Montparnasse and chocolates from Vosges Haut Chocolat and Knipschildt Chocolatier.
Ideeli
More intimates can be found from La Fee Verte at Ideeli as well as outer- and active wear by Calvin Klein - a subtle suggestion to lose the remaining holiday weight before slipping on the sweet next-to-nothings?
Rue La La
Ready-to-wear Valentino goes on sale here February 1. Plus: Elle magazine (US) has curated an entire boutique dedicated to Valentine's Day, featuring La Perla lingerie, chocolates, jewelry and champagne - opens February 4.
Row Nine
The site is all about lovers this week, hosting nothing but Valentine's Day-themed boutiques. Jewelry by Tiffany & Co. becomes available February 1.
Shopbop
Leather jackets in all shapes and sizes - from blazers and motorcycle jackets to hooded, draped, and wrapped styles - are the highlight of Shopbop's sale section this week.
