Three-piece suit

Designworks is a company dedicated to dressing men simply and in clothes that flatter without being overpowering. It is run by brother and sister Max and Tamara Plaskow, who produced their first collection in 1993. This season has been so successful that when their sale started on 28 December, prices on most garments were halved, so eager are the duo to get their spring stock on the rails.

This three-piece navy moleskin suit is one of the best of the bargains, reduced from pounds 400 to pounds 200. The waistcoat and jacket are very tailored, yet the overall image is relaxed because of the moleskin fabric which is slightly worn in colour. If you're a man who takes his image seriously enough to go clothes shopping in the sales, you're a man who should give Designworks a second look. Its unfussy look is quite inspiring.

Designworks, 19 Avery Row, London W1. Most trousers in the sale are about pounds 75, jackets pounds 120, and nylon macs pounds 95.
