Adding another layer to his ever-expanding collaboration with adidas Originals, this time Pharrell Williams is overseeing the launch of a collection inspired by the golden era of tennis.

Utilising the fearless attitude and bold sense of style we associate with 70s sports superstars, Pharrell and co aimed to remix their most iconic looks into a tennis collection that also incorporated adidas’ latest breakthroughs in technology, such as adidas Climacool.

The result? A vibrant collection of tennis-inspired summer wear that not only offers a cool, colourful spirit but a fully-functional, engineered finish.

The campaign features Spanish champion Garbiñe Muguruza (adidas)

The collection itself explores two distinct motifs – primary blocks of colour and the off-white pin stripe all of which can be found on everything from polos and tennis skirts, to track tops for men and dresses for women.

Another retro staple that William’s reconsidered was the cable-knit sweater. Here, it comes with a decidedly 70s feel but also updated with engineered cuff and collar tippings, and a subtle inlaid logo pattern.

The brand bought in German player Alexander “Sascha” Zverev (Adidas)

Accessories wise, you can get your hands on everything from a Richie Tenenbaum-inspired headband, to colour knee socks, semi-transparent visors and a roomy, vintage tennis bag crafted from the softest suede.

To model the collection, the brand bought in German player Alexander “Sascha” Zverev and Spanish champion Garbiñe Muguruza, both of whom are long-time members of the Adidas clan.

Men's Engineered Track Top $300/£233

And, while the two pros show us how it’s really done, sporting the clothes in motion, the campaign also features models who prove that you can also wear the retro threads just to look good.

Women's Dress $400/£310
Women's Cable Knit Tank $250/£194
