Pepsi Super Bowl commercial: More than ok

Days before the New England Patriots beat the Los Angeles Rams in the 2019 Super Bowl, Pepsi released a star-studded commercial featuring actor Steve Carell, rapper Lil John and rapper Cardi B.

Cardi B makes a grand entrance in the advert, bursting through the front doors of a restaurant wearing a sequinned blazer dress.

One of the most eye-catching elements of the I Like It rapper's ensemble is her sparkling nails, which first come into focus when she picks up a can of Pepsi from a counter.

In true Cardi B fashion, the detail that went into her nail art is truly next level.

According to the star's nail artist, her nails were adorned with nearly 500 Swarovski crystals especially for the commercial.

Bronx-based nail artist Jenny Bui, otherwise known as the "Queen of Bling", has a nail salon in New York called Nails on 7th.

Bui collaborated with Cardi B when working out the design of the rapper's embellished nails, which were painted red, white and blue to match the Pepsi can.

According to Bui, Cardi B initially only wanted her nails painted blue, as opposed to the three colours the pair finally decided on.

"I suggested that she do three colors to match with the Pepsi can," Bui tells Refinery 29.

"I actually tried to create the Pepsi logo with crystals, but Cardi said no, because she didn't want to give away that she was doing a Pepsi commercial [before it aired]."

Each nail was adorned with between 25 to 45 Swarovski crystals, and took two and a half hours to complete.

Several people have been praising Cardi B's showy nail design.
