Cadbury gives away free bars of Dairy Milk chocolate in new store

The store will be in London for a few days, after which time it will move to Birmingham and then Sheffield

Perhaps the only thing in the world better than chocolate… is free chocolate.

So good news then: Cadbury is launching new pop-up newsagent’s shops where no money will be exchanged and customers can walk out with a bar of Dairy Milk.

All you have to do is bring in some sort of knick-knack, trinket or item (even a button will do) to exchange for your bar of chocolatey goodness.

The first branch of the ‘Glass and a Half’ shop will be in central London (57 Greek Street) from 25-28 January, open from 10am to 6pm.

There are over 10,000 bars to give away over the four-day period.

However in good news for non-Londoners, the shop will be popping up in Birmingham and Sheffield afterwards.

Designed like a traditional corner shop, the stores will be decorated with all things purple in homage to the iconic Dairy Milk bar.

They’re being launched to tie in with the latest Cadbury TV advert, which tells the story of a young girl who enters a corner store wanting to buy a bar of Dairy Milk for her mum’s birthday.

The trouble is, all she has as payment is a collection of small knick-knacks, which fortunately the shopkeeper accepts.

The brand is focusing on generosity, but if you’d rather keep your free bar of Dairy Milk for yourself, we certainly won’t be judging.
