Supermarkets and brands in the UK have urgently recalled several products, including Calippos and glazed doughnuts.

Products are recalled when they could be hazardous for consumers for various reasons, including containing allergens not listed in the ingredients.

Lidl, Morrisons, Co-op, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are all stocking items that have been recalled – customers who’ve bought any of the products listed below can usually return them in-store for a full refund.

Calippos

Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury’s all stock Wall’s Mini Calippo (Orange and Lemon-Lime) multi-packs, which have now been recalled by Unilever as they may contain pieces of metal.

This makes the popular ice lollies unsafe to eat, for obvious reasons.

Information

Pack size: 6 x 80ml (480ml) multi-pack

Batch code: L0121, L0122, L0123, L0124, L0125 and L0126

Best before: April 2022 and May 2022

If you have bought the above product do not eat it and contact Unilever on 0800 731 1507.

Doughnuts

Co-op is recalling its own brand four-pack of Glazed Ring Doughnuts; the product contains milk and soya, neither of which are listed on some of the labels.

Anyone with an allergy or intolerance to soya, milk or milk constituents is at risk.

If you have bought this product and have an allergy or intolerance to the ingredients listed, call 0800 0686 727, email customer.careline@coop.co.uk or return in-store.

Pesto

Lidl is recalling a brand of green and red pesto – Baresa Pesto alla Genovese and Baresa Red Pesto – because they may contain peanuts, which are not listed in the ingredients, making the product hazardous for those with peanut allergies.

Information

Baresa Pesto alla Genovese (Green)/Baresa Red Pesto

Pack size: 190g

Best-before dates: Up to and including October 2022

Lidl GB has said: “If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat them. Instead please dispose of the product and email customer.services@lidl.co.uk including a photo of the affected product and best-before date.”

Customers can also return the item in-store for a full refund, even without a receipt.

Herbs

Morrisons has recalled Market Street Living Herbs products because there’s a chance they could contain listeria monocytogenes (a species of pathogenic bacteria).

Information

Morrisons Market Street Living Basil, Large Living Basil, Chives, Coriander, Large Living Coriander, Dill, Flat Parsley, Mint, Parsley or Thyme.

Batch description: All products purchased between 03 May and 09 May 2020

Customers are advised not to eat any of the above and to return them in-store for a full refund.

Masala

Top Star Marketing UK Ltd. is recalling Shahzada Industries GoGo Fresh and Sweet Pan Masala as it contains flour from an unknown source. It also contains Rhodamine B, an illegal dye.

The product is potentially a health risk for people with allergies or intolerances.
