An official Friends cookbook is coming so we can finally taste Ross' "moist maker" turkey sandwich

Although the Friends reunion may be on hold yet again due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is something for fans to look forward to that isn’t delayed - the official cookbook.

Due to be released by publishers Simon & Schuster on September 22, we’re already dreaming up the ideal way to eat our first ever Friendsgiving Feast.

The book, which is the first official Friends cookbook (there have been several unofficial versions), is written by chef Amanda Yee and has even had the sign off from Warner Bros.

There will be 176 pages featuring 70 recipes for all ranges and ability levels so you don’t need to be a Monica Geller in the kitchen.

Inspired by the 90's NBC sitcom, the book will include everything from Just for Joey Fries to Chandler’s “Milk You Can Chew”, Rachel’s famous English trifle and Janice’s “Oh. My. Gawd” pancakes.

It will also have Ross’ “moist maker” turkey sandwich and Phoebe’s grandmother’s cookies (not the recipe off the back of the Nestle Toll House cookie dough packet).

Not only will the recipes feel like you’re bringing the six characters into your house but they have each been expertly paired with an episode to watch while you eat (who needs wine pairing when you’ve got Friends?)

The blurb reads: "Whether you're a seasoned chef like Monica Geller, just starting a catering business like Phoebe Buffay, or a regular old food enthusiast like Joey Tribbiani, 'Friends: The Official Cookbook' offers a variety of recipes for chefs of all levels.”

We’re also hoping for a rendition of Joey’s meatball sub from “The One With The Ride Along” (maybe we can finally confirm exactly why Joey doesn’t share food) and a slice of Chandler and Rachel’s Mama’s Little Bakery cheesecake.

A Friends reunion has been the wish of fans ever since the show went off air in 2004. But finally in 2020, the cast members confirmed they were regrouping for another episode.

But lockdown has put the plans on ice for the foreseeable future. On 29 July, when asked about the plans, David Schwimmer reassured fans that it will happen, just not now.

He said: “There’s definitely going to be a Friends reunion. We have a lot of the creative aspects of the show worked out.”

The special, he said, will be unscripted, but with “surprise funny bits” throughout. “The real question is when [we’re going to film it],” he added.

“We’re still trying to figure that out, because we want to do it when it’s safe to do so for everyone.”
