This unique concept makes M RAW (in the stunning, multifaceted Victoria venue), the first 100 per cent gluten-free restaurant in London to serve ‘Michelin quality food’. Featuring the worlds’ most ethically sourced and sustainable ike-jime (the most ethical and sustainable way to fish by paralyzing it) seafood and the purity of the finest raw ingredients, including sashimi from king fish to octopus and sea bass. The dedicated menu offers signature tartars, tempura, hot earth bowls and bento boxes. But the star of the show is undoubtedly the sashimi collection made using cobia – hailed as “the Wagyu of the sea” – where M RAW is among the first restaurants in the UK to feature the fish on its menus.
This Soho based, casual dining room was the first London restaurant to be completely gluten-free and it is even accredited by Coeliac UK. Think healthy meets genuine Italian - specialising in an array of savoury and sweet polenta-based dishes. Dishes include the
popular courgette and polenta ‘box’, filled with vegetables, and the burrata mousse – layered with aubergine beneath crisp polenta sheets. La Polenteria has been reinvigorated after a recent refurbishment, with decor and Soho-chic design by Finch Interiors.
Ceviche founder, Martin Morales, has opened Casita Andina on Soho's Great Windmill Street - a sister outpost to his Andina in Shoreditch – a restaurant dedicated to the superfood ingredients from the Peruvian Andes. Inspired by Peruvian ‘picanterias’ - the traditional family-friendly eateries found across Peru – it dishes up honest, home-style comfort food, which is entirely gluten free - using sustainable and organic ingredients. Some, like quinoa and maca, are flown over from Peru, while others are sourced from British farms.
Niche is an independently owned casual dining restaurant near Sadler's Wells Theatre in Islington, serving good honest British comfort food with a modern twist. The 'niche' is that everything on the menu is 100 per cent gluten-free.
Everything is prepared and cooked on site, making use of local suppliers and seasonal ingredients - and expect a well-priced menu of British dishes such as ‘Niche Quiche’, home-made burgers, steaks, their own recipe sausages, alongside a selection of creative salads and other British favourites.
Brought to you by the man behind Ottolenghi, NOPI offers a predominantly Middle Eastern and Asian menu divided into Fish, Meat and Vegetables, with several gluten-free options.
The Soho-based restaurant has some of the Ottolenghi trademarks – platters full of salads and a menu which celebrates bold flavours. But the highlight is for coeliacs is the daily chaning dedicated gluten-free menu, available on request. Expect dishes such as black rice with coconut milk, banana and mango (pictured) for breakfast and crushed beetroot with date molasses or octopus with red quinoa and olive puree at lunch.
