It's the supersized version of the iconic Oreo: a triple decker, double-cream cookie.
The Triple Double Oreo, with layers of chocolate and vanilla cream sandwiched between three wafer cookies, hits US supermarkets this week.
Pitched as milk's favorite cookie companion, the triple decker cookie becomes all the more labor-intensive doubling the ritual of twisting, licking and dunking each layer.
The suggested retail price per package is $4.19. One cookie clocks in at 100 calories and 4.5 g of fat.
It's been a good year for the humble cookie franchise. While blogs like Gizmodo and Consumerist have been creating advance hype over the newest Oreo to join the family, British cookie maker McVities got a boost from the Duke of Cambridge when he requested a wedding cake made from their chocolate biscuits for his nuptials in April.
