Germany's MoAuba has been crowned the Fifa eWorld Cup champion.

He won $250,000, as well as a huge trophy marking his achievement as the world champion.

MoAuba, whose real name is Mohammed Harkous, becomes Germany's first ever winner of the Fifa world championships.

The competitive player, who becomes Germany's first ever champion in the competition, beat favourite MSDossary in a tense final in London. He had hoped to become the first ever back-to-back world champion at the competition, and a win would also have made his native Saudi Arabia the most successful country in the history of the competition.

MoAuba also beat competitors such as the UK's Tekkz, often hailed as the best Fifa 19 player in the world, who was eliminated in the group stages of the competition.

The German had first won the PlayStation competition, after match against nicolas99fc, real name Nicolas Villalba. MoAuba began the match in the lead, but it ended in a tense penalty shootout that he went onto win.

That tense semi-final put him in the grand final and up against MSDossary, who had won on the Xbox. The final saw the pair play one match on each of the consoles, with MoAuba joking before the match that he didn't know what the Xbox controller was.

He managed to keep the first leg, played on that unfamiliar console, to 1-1. But after a busy game on the PlayStation, MoAuba ended 3-2 up, and was crowned world champion.

The Fifa eWorld Cup marks the end of the competitive season. The new one will begin with the release of Fifa 20, which is due to come out in September, and bring a whole host of updates.

MoAuba – the short version of his nickname "MoAubameyang" – is just one of a number of Germans playing at the very top of competitive Fifa, despite being the first from the country to win in the eWorld Cup.

The win is by far the most high-profile of his eSports career.
