A portal to the underworld has opened, spewing ghouls and monsters – and you are the hero trying to save the day. Diablo III is not trying to tell a classy story; gameplay is the USP.
It’s a mix of hack-and-slash and dungeon crawling, and combat is incredibly straightforward, with the player mashing attack buttons to fight off monsters. The real challenge is in correctly equipping the weapons and armour needed to handle the game’s difficulty curve. Removing the controversial auction houses and adjusting the loot system makes this the most newcomer-friendly Diablo to date.
