Apple event: How to watch new iPhone release live, on YouTube or in person

It has gradually become easier and easier to follow along live

Apple is about to host its biggest event of the year. And it wants you to watch along.

The company is making it easier than ever to follow live this year, with a variety of new ways to stream.

It hasn't always been so simple. In the past, Apple only allowed people using its own devices to watch along with the keynote event live, forcing everyone else to catch up after the fact.

But, nowadays, even Windows users can watch along.

People can even keep up with the event alongside Apple itself, at screenings at Apple stores across the world.

It will be the first time ever that Apple will stream the event live on YouTube, and this year that is probably the simplest way to do so. The page for that stream is already live, and there is an option to set a reminder on the page to be alerted when the event actually starts.

It will be streaming the event in its traditional way, too, on its own website. That can be found by heading to this link, either on an up-to-date iOS device or a newer desktop operating system and browser.

As ever, Apple will offer the option to stream through the Apple TV, too. The "special events" app should already have appeared on your dashboard, if you have an Apple TV, and the live stream will appear at the relevant time.

Apple will also allow people to watch the event in real life, at various stores. Which ones, and details to sign up, can be found on the Today at Apple page.

"Come and join us at the Apple Store for a livestream of the Apple Special Event from the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino," the description of the event on Apple's website reads. "We’re excited to watch some of the latest news from Apple with you."

Everything will kick off at 10am local pacific time. That's 1pm on the East Coast of the US, 6pm in the UK, 7pm CES or 10.30pm IST.
