Peloton has released a new Apple TV app, allowing users to workout using their televisions.

The home exercise company is perhaps the most famous of the many home exercise companies that have seen a boom as users in lockdown look to keep fit without being able to easily go outdoors.

Until now, users have only been able to access their workouts through Peloton's hardware – its bike or its treadmill – or the apps on other platforms such as the iPad. While the company has an app for Amazon's Fire TV, no such option has been available for Apple users.

Now people with the more recent versions of the Apple TV will be able tp download the company's app and view them on their televisions.

The company suggested that more features would be coming to platforms in the future.

"Looking forward, Peloton will continue building on Apple’s platforms and deliver new ways for Members who are Apple users to experience its superior workout content," it said in its announcement.

While Peloton is largely famous for the exercise bike that made its name, the company also offers an online subscription service that includes a variety of home workouts.

Peloton says it has more than 2.6 million members in the UK, US and Canada.
