Samsung's next flagship device might be more camera than smartphone, with the latest Galaxy S11 leak revealing a host of highly-impressive lenses and sensors.

New rumours appear to confirm previous reports that the Galaxy S11 will come with a 108-megapixel image sensor, while also revealing new details about the rest of the phone's photographic setup.

A large rectangle on its rear could house up to five lenses, including an ultrawide-angle lens and one capable of 5x optical zoom.

Various sensors will also bring greater depth detection that could allow a whole new range of augmented reality applications, according to Samsung insiders speaking to Bloomberg.

The publication also reports that the next Samsung Galaxy Fold will also feature the high-resolution sensor and impressive zoom capabilities.

Samsung is expected to release up to five different versions of the Galaxy S11, spread across three screen sizes.

The smallest of the crop will be the same size as the largest model of the current Galaxy S10 lineup, according to previous reports from notorious leaker Evan Blass.

The smaller 6.4-inch and 6.7-inch models will come with curved-edge displays and come in both 5G and LTE variants.

Other anticipated specs for the larger model of the Galaxy S11 include a 6.8-inch QuadHD+ Display, 8K video recording capabilities and support only for 5G.

Samsung typically does not comment on rumour or speculation surrounding unreleased devices, but the South Korean technology giant will likely reveal all the details in a couple of months.

The company's usual launch cycle sees its flagship phone unveiled in mid-to-late February, with the release date coming a couple of weeks after.
