The 84-year-old pilot whose glider crashed on the Dunstable Downs in Bedfordshire on Monday has died in hospital.

Daniel Smith, from Ealing, west London, was attempting takeoff at the London Gliding Club when he crashed into a field. He was taken from the wreckage suffering from two broken legs and concussion.
