A largely virtual red carpet didn’t stop celebrities from showing off their fashion choices at this year’s Golden Globes.

On Sunday, the delayed awards season kicked off with the 78th annual Globes, with nominees and other notable names appearing via Zoom or Instagram dressed in black tie.

While we didn’t expect to see the same amount of gowns and tuxedos at this year’s awards, the celebs who did turn out in red carpet outfits did not disappoint.

From Elle Fanning to Margot Robbie, these are the best-dressed attendees at this year’s Golden Globes.

Margot Robbie

The Wolf of Wall Street star, who will be one of the night’s presenters, wore a patterned Chanel dress on the red carpet, which she paired with a Gucci belt and a black Chanel purse.

Amanda Seyfried

Seyfried appeared virtually in a coral Oscar de la Renta gown with silk flower detailing. She accessorised the look with diamond drop earrings and a diamond necklace.

Elle Fanning

Fanning also dressed up for the event, sharing a photo of herself on Instagram in a blue silk dress by Gucci.

“Dressed up for a night in for the @goldenglobes,” the actress wrote.

Sarah Hyland

The Modern Family star opted for an entirely red outfit for Sunday’s event, showing off red hair with a matching off-the-shoulder ball gown in the same shade and dangling earrings.

Laverne Cox

Cox appeared virtually in a red gown with statement sleeves and an updo. The actress showed off the look in front of a mirror so the back of her outfit could also be seen by viewers at home.

Emma Corrin

The Crown actress opted for a beige suit and pale blue shirt for the awards show, with a remote photo taken of Corrin showing her posing with confetti-filled balloons.

Corrin paired the outfit with high-topped white sneakers.

Angela Bassett

Bassett, who starred in Pixar’s Soul, which is up for Best Animated Motion Picture, chose a purple gown with feather detailing for her virtual red carpet look.

Jared Leto

Leto explained that he wasn’t going to let the virtual awards keep him from dressing up on his social media accounts, where he shared a photo of himself wearing a black knit turtleneck.

“Just because we’re doing the Golden Globes from home this year doesn’t mean I couldn’t get all dressed up for the camera,” he wrote.

Laura Dern

The Big Little Lies star opted for a black pantsuit with satin detailing for the Golden Globes red carpet. She paired the look with red lipstick and black studded heels.

Tiffany Haddish

The Girl’s Trip actress complemented the gold gown with gold earrings and a blonde buzz cut.

Maya Rudolph

Rudolph also chose red for this year’s awards, showing up on the red carpet in a white flower-patterned red dress, which she paired with white sandals.

Bryan Cranston

Cranston made it clear that he didn’t plan on dressing up for the virtual ceremony ahead of the Golden Globes when he posted a photo of himself wearing shorts on Instagram.

“Taking in the ‘Golden Glow’ at my home. They want us to dress up for the show tonight, but, when I consider the conundrum of fashion or comfort? Comfort wins out, doesn’t it,” he wrote.

Amy Poehler

The award show’s co-host arrived on the red carpet for her hosting duties in a black bedazzled and belted mini dress by Moschino, which she paired with black tights.

Kate Hudson

For her virtual viewing party, Hudson wore a custom silver and black gown by Louis Vuitton, which featured a bedazzled bodice and oversized black belt.

Anya Taylor-Joy

The Queen’s Gambit star opted for a green custom Dior gown and a removable cape for the awards. She completed the look with sleek curls.

Rosamund Pike

Pike, who won the Golden Globe for best actress in a motion picture - comedy or musical, appeared in one of the night’s stand-out fashion moments, wearing a large red tulle gown by Molly Goddard.

On Twitter, the dress sparked a significant amount of praise, with one viewer commenting: “I’m obsessed with Rosamund Pike’s dress.”

Tina Fey

Poehler’s co-host for the awards show wore a tuxedo dress by Versace for the ceremony, which featured a silk lapel. She paired the look with polka-dot tights and black heels.

Andra Day

Day, who was nominated for best actress, wore a silk tulle dress with a full skirt from Chanel’s Haute Couture collection for this year’s Golden Globes. The actress accessorised the outfit with a bold purple lip and statement rings.

“Blessed to wear this incredible silk dress from the CHANEL Spring/Summer Haute Couture 2021 collection,” she captioned a video of herself in the dress on Instagram.

Regina King

King, like Kate Hudson, also wore black and silver gown by Louis Vuitton. King’s version featured a one-shouldered detail and floor-length silver sequins.

Cynthia Erivo

Erivo chose one of the night’s brightest looks, opting for a neon green dress by Valentino, which she wore with elbow-length white gloves.
