CATERPILLARS may look cuddly but they can trigger unpleasant allergies and should be given a wide berth, not be sniffed or touched, says a report in the Lancet. Researchers at Bordeaux University found that the hairs from two common European types can cause skin and eye inflammation and respiratory problems.
