GUITARIST'S nipple, cellist's scrotum and fiddler's neck are among allergic disorders that can be triggered by the exotic wood used to make musical instruments, a report in the journal Medical Problems of Performing Artists says.

Musicians who complain of skin disorders, it warns, may have dermatitis caused by contact with their instruments. Varnished instruments, bamboo reeds and brass polish all present hazards, the report warns.
