South by Southwest (SXSW), an annual interactive, film, and music conference held in Austin, Texas has decided to expand the 2011 program with a one-day health track. The organizers are seeking ‘creative' or ‘technical' ideas for social health (social media and new technologies in health) panel additions.
The goal is to emulate the spirit of TED Health (www.ted.com), the Social Health un-conference (http://www.sxsh.org/) and HealthCa.mp (http://www.socialtext.net/healthcamp/).
Proposals can be submitted online via the SXSW PanelPicker by filling out a form that includes the proposed panel title, suggested speakers, 1500 words about the panel and five questions/issues that will be addressed during the panel. Make sure you select ‘interactive' and tag ‘health.'
All proposals have to be submitted by July 9.
The proposals are reviewed August 9-29, by an international expert advisory board (40%), posted for online voting (30%) and then SXSW staff (30%) will select the top proposals.
Should your proposal be successful, the SXSW team will notify you by September if it will be included in 2011 SXSW Interactive festival during March 11-20.
