100th International Women's Day
March 8
Worldwide

This year marks the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8), a global day celebrating the economic, political, and social achievements of women past, present, and future. In some countries, such as China, Russia, Vietnam and Bulgaria, it is a national holiday. Almost 350 events will be held around the world to mark the occasion, including talks, discussions, exhibitions, workshops and a range of local events. To celebrate, CARE USA, a humanitarian organization that fights global poverty, will host the CARE Conference & International Women's Day Celebration, March 8-10, in Washington, DC. The event will feature keynote speakers Melinda Gates, Laura Bush, and Judy Woodruff and panel discussions led by issue experts from around the world.
