When you picture a high-flying career, one that will see you earning a six-figure salary, a fast food restaurant might not be the first employer that springs to mind.

However, popular US burger chain, In-N-Out Burger, has revealed they pay their store managers quite handsomely indeed.

Divulging the details of their latest report in an interview with California Sun, the popular fast food chain said their highest-ranking employees are paid an average of more than $160,000 (£112,000) a year.

That’s three times above the industry standard and more than the average salary for lawyers and software engineers, California Sun reports.

The successful chain is a family-owned company and has a solid reputation for employee welfare.

When workers start out, they earn an hourly rate of $13 (£9) in addition to getting access to a string of benefits such as paid health and dental care.

However, according to careers review site Glassdoor, employees are often made to work long hours.

In spite of that, 90 per cent would recommend In-N-Out as an employer and the chain boasts a 4.4 star rating.

Plus, the burger chain is ranked fourth in Glassdoor’s annual “Best Places to Work” list behind Facebook, Bain & Company and Boston Consulting Group.

Google came in fifth place - yes, even the employer renowned for supplying its workers with oodles of food and freebies and slides that take you straight into the canteen is sub-par to In-N-Out.
