Gold and silver bullion bars have been released by the Royal Mint in celebration of the James Bond film franchise.

Monday 5 October marks James Bond Day, commemorating 58 years since the first film in the series, Dr No, was released in 1962.

On the anniversary, the Royal Mint has unveiled a range of gold and silver bullion bars paying homage to the world-famous spy.

The metal bars feature the names of the 25 James Bond films, including the recently-delayed upcoming release No Time To Die, starring Daniel Craig in his final outing as 007.

One-ounce gold, one-ounce silver and 10-ounce silver bars have been made available to purchase on the Royal Mint website.

The price of the bars is dependent on the current prices of silver and gold, which can fluctuate.

Therefore, the bars could vary in price from £30 for a silver one-ounce bar to £1,600 for a gold one-ounce bar.

“From Goldfinger to GoldenEye, gold has been featured heavily in the James Bond films,” said Andrew Dickey, divisional director of the precious metals divisions at the Royal Mint.

“We feel the popularity of the franchise, combined with the appeal of gold, will be a big hit with our customers.”

The release of the gold and silver bullion bars follows the release of a range of coins launched earlier this year in commemoration of the James Bond film series.

When the three coins were placed next to one another, the three designs combined to create a 007 motif.
