Jessie J draws attention to her misspelled tattoo in Instagram post

Jessie J has hit back at online trolls who mock her for a misspelled tattoo on her hip.

On Thursday, the Bang Bang singer shared a photo of herself posing in a bikini that revealed the tattoo on her hip before explaining the truth behind the misspelling of the word “lose” in a lengthy caption.

“Yes my tattoo says...’don’t loose who you are in the blur of the stars’. Yes they are MY lyrics from my song who you are. Yes that I wrote. Yes I spelt the tattoo wrong," reads the caption.

“Yes I repeat it’s spelt wrong. Yes I got it done in Essex. Yes the tattoo artist didn’t mention it. Yes I was 18. Yes I still don’t know the difference between lose and loose. Yes It’s the reason I wear everything high waisted.”

The 31-year-old continued by addressing previous comments she has received about the size of her breasts from trolls.

“And YES I know I have small boobs. Don’t waste your time telling me like I don’t see them everyday,” she wrote on the Instagram post.

“Don’t @ me. K bye.”

Fans of the singer praised her honesty in the post, which has since received more than 347,000 likes, with many telling Jessie J she didn’t need to explain the reason behind the tattoo's misspelling.

“Don’t waste your time telling them anything Jess, you are the most beautiful queen ever!” one person commented.

“Haters gonna find some flaws anyway even if you DON’T have ANY.”

Another added: “You are amazing just the way you are.”

This isn’t the first time Jessie J has spoken about the tattoo. In 2015, the Price Tag singer admitted on The Graham Norton Show that it was her mother who first pointed out the incorrect spelling.

“I did it ages ago and had 'Don't lose who you are in the blur of the star!' tattooed on my side,” she told the show’s host Graham Norton.

”Not long after I had it done my mum said to me in tears, 'I don't know how to tell you this but it is spelt wrong.'

“I have 'Don't loose who you are in the blur of the stars!' It's really big, which is awful.”

Jessie J isn’t the only celebrity to have a misspelled tattoo.

In January 2019, Ariana Grande shared a photo of a new tattoo which featured the phrase “7 rings” in Japanese characters on the palm of her hand.

However, fans of the star were quick to point out the tattoo had actually been spelt incorrectly.

Grande has since fixed her tattoo, sharing a photo of the updated design on her Instagram story.
