l FOR many years I have used ordinary toilet soap with my shaving brush (Tried and Tested, Sunday Review, 5 March). It gives a splendid lather and I can't think why men buy shaving sticks, gel or foam. It can't be for a closer shave. The blades cut close, not the lubricants.

I can't understand why my friends shave with the razor in one hand. It is much easier using the right hand for the right side of the face and the left hand for the left side.
