YOU HAVE grievously misled the nation's Scrabble players in suggesting they can use up their vowels with the "word" euouae ("Scrabble celebrates 50 years with nabk in the nude", 13 December).
This is not a word. It is an abbreviation of "saeculorum, Amen", the last words in Latin of the phrase "for ever and ever, Amen". It is used to show how to place the vowels of these words in any given chant. It is no more a word than "ltd". Anyone who uses "euouae" is lexically excommunicate.
