WHICH, I wonder, came first: Christianity or celebrating 25 December ("And lo, there was no room on the Net" and "What if it's true after all?", 6 December)? Perhaps if we get the basic facts right we could spend less time worrying about whether the "true" meaning of Christmas has been lost, and more time enjoying the season.
