WHERE on earth does your reviewer ("More than a tenor, and worth it", 26 April) detect "embryonic Nazism" in Parsifal? I can see no clear hint of the Nazi ethos, unless it is fascist to condemn self-castration. One could imagine Hitler approving its masculine bias, but is it right to tar the latent misogyny so typical of the fin de siecle with so sweeping a political brush? Perhaps Michael White is allergic to countermarching male choruses.
