IT IS wrong to base a call for greater regulation of homeopathy and alternative medicines on one case ("Clinic infects 47 with hepatitis", 21 June). We do need to take care that private clinics observe the highest possible standards but infections are routine in conventional hospitals: roughly one in six patients acquires an infection in hospital leading to100,000 deaths per year in the US.
