From Mr John Duff Sir: Elie Weisel offered no forgiveness to those who committed the atrocities at Auschwitz ("God have no mercy on them", 27 January).

The crimes committed were indeed appalling. But if we cannot forgive others, how can we expect forgiveness ourselves?
