JUSTINE MARTIN (Letters, 4 April), writing on the subject of A N Wilson's advocation of a pacifist response to terror, surely missed the point: the vanguard of unarmed peace workers who would be prepared to die would not necessarily need to be our "sons and daughters". This "army" could also include the middle-aged and elderly - in other words, the generation that has throughout history been prepared again and again to sacrifice sons and daughters.
