Although welcome relief from the election your tale of the church's links with arms hardly warrants front-page status. Nearly 1,000 years ago, the first of western Christendom's crusades led to the capture of Jerusalem. Your report did well to remind us of Christian investments in the weapons industries; with religious hatred still boiling in the Middle East, it is small wonder that so little has changed in the last millennium.
