Letters: Cooked up

n My 40 years of rationalism have been overturned by one short, hilarious letter (14 January). The soul is immortal and the Great Ridiculer of Humbuggery is still at it.

The glorious combination of prudery, politicial correctness, sentimentality and smugness in the letter on the American porn superstar Taylor Wane, signed "Wendy Smart", could only have come from one hand. Thank you, Peter Cook. We can look forward to a joyful eternity of missives from beyond the grave. Gnomes, Strebe-Greeblings, Thribbs - and now, Smarts.
